Migrate an existing Ergosoft setup to a new PC

Problem/Question

You purchased a new PC and would like to use Ergosoft in the same way as on the previous PC. How to proceed?

Solution/Work-Around

  1. Select the "Tools" tab in "Ergosoft ControlCenter".
  2. Open the "SystemGuard" module.
  3. Below the "Backup" tab, you`ll find the relevant settings for creating a data backup.
Define the storage path of the backup and click on the <Copy Folder> button afterwards.
  4. Copy the ZIP file created in the previous step to the new PC and unzip it.
  5. Carry out the Ergosoft installation. During the User data query step, activate the "Show data migration options".
  6. Navigate to the folder unpacked in step 4 and confirm with <OK>.
  7. Finish the installation.
After starting the JobComposer, the Ports need to be assigned to the PrintQueues / CutQueues, then Ergosoft is ready for use.
