Unstable System and RIP Shutdown or Ergosoft RIP not starting at all

Unstable System and RIP Shutdown or Ergosoft RIP not starting at all

Problem/Question
When you try to start the ControlCenter nothing happens at all even after a restart.
A certain component or module is crashing while starting.

Possible reason are:
  1. Administrative access to folders and Windows O.S. functions.
  2. Registry Write access
  3. Anti-virus, Anti-malware or other Security Software installed.
When the cause cannot be clearly identified, the best way to solve the problem is to do a cleanup, update and re-installation.

Solution/Work-Around

1. Clean any unnecessary files
  1. Start "Maintenance Tool"
    Windows > Start > Programs > Ergosoft > Maintenance tool > Troubleshooting
  2. Execute ShutDown all RIP components
  3. Execute Empty snapshot folder list
  4. Execute Delete all temporary raster files
  5. User Folder manual Cleanup
    1. Delete all the files under [HD:\User Data Folder\... ] \Files\SnapRO
    2. Delete all the files under [HD:\User Data Folder\... ] \Files\TEMP (requires a RIP shutdown)
    3. Delete all unnecessary jobs under PrintClient or JobCenter
    4. Keep the JobTickets folder ([HD:\User Data Folder\... ] \Data\JobTickets) small.
This is not necessary in version 16 since you can manage all temporary files with SystemGuard.
2. Updates
  1. Fully update your Windows O.S.
  2. Download the latest official release of our RIP Software
3. Re-installation Procedure
  1. Uninstall the RIP Software
  2. Delete any remaining files of and folders of Ergosoft under C:\Program Files (x86) or C:\Program Files
  3. Restart the computer
  4. Uninstall or deactivate any third party Anti-Virus
  5. Restart the computer
  6. Use Windows Security, if not activated activate it after restart
  7. Restart the computer
  8. Install the RIP Software
