Repositions and rotates all images in the Job according to set criteria such as
easy cutting, save media, etc. Nesting always uses the outer rectangular shape
of an image as its boundary, transparencies in files to create complex outlines
will not be honored and images are always treated as rectangles.
To handle complex shapes in Nesting, please see the True Shape Nesting Feature.
To use Rectangular Nesting Right Click on an empty area in the Job and hover over Nesting from the context menu (You can also only Nest a subset of images in the Job by selecting them and using Right Click > Nesting on them directly). This will display the different available nesting modes:
Easy Cutting Allow Rotation: Will attempt to align as many images edges as possible by moving and rotating images to allow for easy cutting with as few cuts and corners as possible.
Easy Cutting no Rotation: Attempts to align as many images edges as possible by moving images to allow for easy cutting with as few cuts and corners as possible. Images are not rotated.
Keep Image Order: Arranges the images together but keeps them in the same order.
Minimum Waste Allow Rotation: Attempts to align images to save as much media as possible by moving and rotating images so there is as little empty space between them as possible.
Minimum Waste no Rotation: Attempts to align images to save as much media as possible by moving and images so there is as little empty space between them as possible. Images are not rotated.
It is also possible to group images before applying Nesting to them. By grouping images together, their position relative to each other will remain the same throughout the Nesting. This way it’s possible to e.g. add a barcode to each image, then group the image with the barcode before nesting to ensure each barcode stays with the correct image. See the article Groups for more information on how to apply Grouping.
