License Activation fails due to blocked browser permission

Problem/Question

When trying to activate an Ergosoft license, the following error message pops up.


You're wondering "Why it isn't working?" and "Why, now since it worked on another station?".

Solution/Work-Around

In some cases, a browser pop-up asking for permission to allow communication appears and activation succeeds after approval. However, in many cases, this prompt does not appear because the browser permission is already set to "Block".

Check and adjust the browser permission settings:
  1. Open the WebDepot page in the browser.
    Go to the license activation link, log in to your user portal account, and then return to the activation link.
  2. Click the lock icon in the address bar.
  3. Locate the setting "Apps on device" below "Permissions for this site" and change the setting to "Allowed".

  4. Retry the license activation process.
You should now be able to activate the license as intended.
