Problem / Question
A job is sent to RIP but remains in the queue with the status “Waiting to RIP” and does not start processing.
Solution / Work-Around
Cause
No RIP Engine is running. Without an active RIP Engine, Ergosoft RIP cannot process any jobs.
Fix
-
Open the Control Center
-
Navigate to the RIP tab (4th tab in Programs)
-
Check the number of active RIP Engines
-
Set the value to greater than 0 (e.g. 1)
Once a RIP Engine is active:
-
The job will start processing automatically
-
Status changes from “Waiting to RIP” → “Ripping” → “Printing”
Verification
-
Confirm that a RIP Engine icon is visible
-
Check that the job progresses through the queue
FAQ
Q: Why are my jobs stuck on “Waiting to RIP”?
A: Because no RIP Engine is running.
Q: What is a RIP Engine?
A: It is the process that converts print jobs into printable data. Without it, no job can be processed.
Q: How many RIP Engines should I run?
