Image AddOns

Image AddOns

Image AddOns are canned modifications and additions that alter an image without requiring actual changes to the the image file itself. AddOns can be used to add Company Logos, Seam Extensions, Labels and other elements to images directly in the RIP without actually changing the image file itself and eliminating the need to manipulate the files in third party programs.

There is a multitude of different AddOns to choose from. AddOns are fully customizable and can even be combined with each other, empowering users to create unique combinations and applications to speed up and simplify their workflows.

To access AddOns to an image, select the image in the Job and go to Properties & Actions > Print Marks.

To apply an existing AddOn Preset, select it from the dropdown menu and click the Apply button. The preview will instantly reflect the AddOns.

To configure a new set of Printmarks, either select -Custom Settings- and then click the Edit button, or click the Add button to create a new AddOn Preset.

From the Image AddOns to be added dropdown menu, select the type of image AddOn you want to use. Click the green + button. The configuration window for the respective AddOn will appear, allowing you to make the appropriate settings.

Currently, the following AddOns are supporter by the ErgoSoft RIP:

Label

Places custom text at a specified place in or outside the boundaries of the image.

Postion Horizontal / Offset: Defines general horizontal position of the AddOn text. Offset is for incremental adjustments and always relative to the position. E.g. for position Right Inside, positive Offset will move the text further to the right, while negative/- Offset moves the text to the right.

Position Vertical / Offset: Defines general vertical position of the AddOn text. Offset is for incremental adjustments and always relative to the position. E.g. for position Top Inside, positive Offset will move the text further down, while negative/- Offset moves the text upward.

Font: Sets the font for the label text. Custom Fonts can be added using the Font Utility

Text height / Color: Sets height and color of the label text.

Outer Line / Color / Line Width: Activates an outline around the boundaries of the label text. Color and Line width adjust the appearance of the outer line.

Background / Color: Activates a background fill inside the boundaries of the label text. Color adjusts the appearance of the background fill.

Supported dynamic text blocks are: {User} {Computer} {Program} {Version} {Date} {Time} {Elapsed} {PrintEnv} {Density} {OutputProfile} {SimProfile} {SimRendIntent} {Halftoning} {Resolution} {InkLimit} {PositionTemplate} {AppDefaults} {JobComment} {JobBarcode} {CustomerName} {CustomerResponsible} {CustomerOrderId} {CustomerOrderName} {CustomerProject} {FileName} {FilePath} {FileSize} {ColorSpace} {Size} {Area} {InputProfile} {RendIntent} {TileNr} {Rotation} {Mirror} {Scale} {Brightness} {Contrast} {Saturation} {ImageComment} {SeparationName} {JobPageNr} {ImageFormat} {ImagePreset} {AddOns} {PureColors} {JobProcessingPolicy} {MediaType} {MediaSize} {HalftoningLong} {ImageMargin} {Tune} {ColorReplace} {PsPdfColorSettings} {ExtraChannels} {PrintSizeChange} {ImagePrintJobInfo} {JobName} {JobID}

Applying AddOns

After confirming the configuration dialog with Ok, you’ll notice that the AddOn has been added to the list of Active AddOns. This list reflects all AddOns currently applied to this image. Click Apply to confirm the AddOn and apply it to your image. You can always add more AddOns to this list by selecting a new one from Image AddOns to be added and clicking the green + Icon again.

Active AddOns can always be edited later on should you need to make adjustments. Selecting an AddOn from the active list and clicking the Edit button will bring up the configuration window again, allowing you to make modifications directly on the current instance of the AddOn.

Certain AddOns may interact differently depending on which one is applied first. To change the order in which AddOns are applied, select an AddOn from the list and use the arrow keys to change its position.

To remove an AddOn, select it from the Active AddOns list and click the red X button. This will remove the AddOn from the image, but the AddOn itself can still be selected from the dropdown menu.

Legacy AddOns

Certain AddOns that were available in previous version are only available in Legacy form in Version 16. To use these AddOns, add a new AddOn Preset by pressing the green + button and selecting the Install... button. This opens a file explorer window that lets you select from both current and legacy AddOns. Select an AddOn and confirm with Open. This installs the AddOns and makes it available in AddOn Presets and Custom Settings.

Note that since these AddOns are only supported in legacy form they are not officially supported and maintained anymore.
