How to load an XML resolution file into a Print Environment (Universal Driver)

How to load an XML resolution file into a Print Environment (Universal Driver)

Problem/Question
You receive an error message when closing the Print Environment after loading a new XML file in the Device options? Re-open the Print Environment might be the solution.
Not every driver is able to access the XML data right after importing it. The XML file first has to be stored into the Print Environment before the loaded settings are available.

Solution/Work-Around
To be able to use the data from an XML file in a universal driver, please proceed as follows:
  1. Import Print Environment (or add new one)
  2. Load XML file
  3. Close the Print Environment with <OK>
  4. To change the resolution (entries in the XML file) open the Print Environment again
  5. Change resolution
  6. Close the Print Environment with <OK>
