How can the Overlay Button be activated

Problem/Question

You wish to overlay two images but the Overlay button is grayed out.



Probably you're using a PrintEnvironment containing spot colors. The combination of spot channels and overlay can lead to faulty prints. This is why the function is disabled by default in such cases.

Solution/Work-Around
Not recommended, and on the user's own responsibility, there are two ways to enable overprinting.
  1. Press the Alt key while moving one image over another.
  2. Application Defaults > User Preferences > Job > activate Always allow Overlay Mode.
