How to Retrieve Your Container ID in Ergosoft RIP 2025

How can I find my Container ID in Ergosoft RIP 2025

To view your Container ID in Ergosoft RIP 2025

  1. Open Ergosoft Rip 2025 Job Composer
  2. Click Help
  3. Click About
  4. The Container ID will be displayed in the Serial number field

To find your Dongle number or Container ID in previous versions: 

  1. In your Windows OS system tray
  2. Open the Code Meter Control Center 
  3. The serial number will appear in the dialog box 

Why is the Container ID important and what is it used for?

  1. It uniquely identifies your Ergosoft RIP configuration
  2. You will need to provide it when contacting Ergosoft for quotes, support requests, or license-related issues
  3. Sharing the correct Container ID helps Ergosoft assist you more quickly and accurately

How can I see what’s on my license?

  1. You can check your license history on our User Portal
  2. For Ergosoft resellers with partner approval, you can use the “Container Look Up” feature

What is the difference between ‘Container ID’ and Dongle number? 

  1. Both terms denote the same thing.   It is a unique identifier for your license information. 
  2. With PC-Bound licensing,  a physical dongle in not required,  so we can use  ‘Container ID’  as a useful catchall for either scenario.   

What does the Container ID number look like?

There are a few different formats, depending upon when and where you purchased the license.
