FAQ - PC-bound License

Q&A: PC-bound Licensing for Ergosoft

Starting with Ergosoft 2025, customers can choose between two license models:

  • Hardware Dongle License (physical USB dongle)

  • PC-bound License (software license tied to a specific computer)

What is a PC-bound License?

A PC-bound License is a software-based license that activates Ergosoft on one specific computer - no USB dongle required. The license is securely tied to key hardware components, making it resistant to misuse or unauthorized transfer. For this reason, please contact us before replacing or modifying the computer.

What are the main benefits?

  • No shipping or customs delays

  • Lower cost than a hardware dongle

  • Instant delivery via email

  • Great for single workstations or fast installations

Can I choose which license type I get?

Yes. When purchasing Ergosoft 2025, you can choose between:

  • A Hardware Dongle License, which allows flexibility between computers

  • A PC-bound License, ideal for fixed workstations and fast setup

What happens if I change or lose access to my computer?

You can request a license transfer.

  • If the original computer is still working: We’ll guide you through the transfer.

  • If the computer no longer works: You’ll submit a short self-declaration by email confirming it’s no longer accessible. We’ll then guide you through the transfer.

In both cases, you’ll need the Container ID, License Ticket or Invoice Number.

Can I switch to a dongle later?

Yes, it’s possible to move from a PC-bound License to a Hardware Dongle License. Please Contact Ergosoft.

Is a temporary license available if my system fails?

Yes. Ergosoft can issue a one-time 5-day emergency license to bridge downtime.

Who can I contact?

If you’re unsure which license fits your setup best or need help recovering a license, please contact Ergosoft Support.
