Error 0x18080001 An internal error has occurred

Problem/Question
When trying to activate the license ticket online you receive an error message:
"Error 0x18080001 An internal error has occurred. Please try again later."


This error message indicates that there is a communication problem between the license management server (CodeMeter License Central WebDepot) and the dongle.

Solution/Work-Around
  1. Update the dongle firmware
  2. Use a different internet browser to activate the license
