Ergosoft cannot be started after Windows 11 Preview Update KB5074105

Ergosoft cannot be started after Windows 11 Preview Update KB5074105

Problem/Question

After installing the Windows 11 Preview Update KB5074105, systems using PC-Bound licenses may experience startup failures. In affected cases, Ergosoft ControlCenter does not start, and Windows reports an application crash in the Reliability Monitor.

Solution/Work-Around

At this time, the following workarounds are confirmed:
  1. Uninstall Windows 11 Preview Update KB5074105
Removing this update restores normal operation of Ergosoft RIP with PC-Bound licenses.
  2. Use a USB dongle license (if available)
Switching from a PC-Bound license to a USB dongle avoids the issue on affected systems.

*Update*
Build RevisionRelease17640402 updates the CodeMeter Protection Suite for developers. This hotfix resolves the issue that prevented PC-bound licenses (CmAct) from installing and operating properly.
