Smarter Color and Print Quality for Every Workflow

Ergosoft’s latest updates bring powerful color optimization tools to all users – whether you're fine-tuning print output, enhancing image vibrancy, or streamlining production.

Effortless Color Enhancement with Job Gradation Curves
The Job Gradation Curve feature is now integrated into Print Environments and fully supported by HotFolders. This integration streamlines your workflow, whether your production is automated or manual.

We’ve also made it easier to access the powerful Auto Vibrancy feature, which intelligently enhances tonal ranges based on the active printer profile.
Combined with a new option to select the rendering intent and the output profile of the Print Environment, it maximizes contrast across all images and formats in a job, especially with multi-color profiles. It allows you to optimize image colors to your printer’s color gamut faster and more effectively than ever before.

Ergosoft RIP installations now include a new set of default Job Gradation Curves, tailored to suit all types of color setups.
Choose from professionally designed presets such as:
  1. Various levels of Contrast Boost
  2. Brightening
  3. Linear Adjustments
These presets offer functionality similar to Adobe Photoshop but are specifically optimized for print output – delivering consistent, high-quality results with minimal effort.

Rendering Intent Meets Print Environment
Some might claim that rendering intents are outdated or overly complex. But the truth is simple: rendering intents empower you with choice. Let’s take a moment to explore why.

Ergosoft’s ColorGPS, our advanced n-color ICC profiling solution, puts that choice front and center. By default, ColorGPS generates visibly distinct rendering intents, giving you immediate flexibility. And for those who want even more control, advanced settings let you create custom hybrids tailored to your specific application needs.

Rendering intents matter – especially when converting from wide-gamut spaces like Adobe RGB to smaller printer gamuts used in textiles with thinner fabrics or high-pressure laminates (HPL), and more. They control how out-of-gamut colors are mapped, directly impacting visual output and color accuracy.

Because the destination gamut often guides the best strategy, Ergosoft now lets you predefine your preferred rendering intent within the Print Environment. Once set, all imported images – regardless of format – will automatically apply it.

Your workflow. Your choice.

Improved Curve Editing Experience
The Gradation Curve dialog – used in Extra Channels, Background Color Removal, and Separation Jobs – has been enhanced for better usability. It’s now resizable, supports numeric handle positioning and resets, and features improved curve visibility.

Manage Colors: Smarter Color Measurement and Swatch Management

Introducing a smarter way to manage color – from precise measurement to seamless swatch handling – designed to elevate accuracy, efficiency, and visual clarity across your workflow.

Enhanced Measurement Management Wizard

Smarter Measurement Averaging
The improved Color Measuring Wizard now averages multiple readings to detect outliers, ensuring more stable and accurate color data.

Smart Cleanup & Reset Options
Quickly remove outlier readings with the new intelligent detection algorithm, which ensures at least two valid measurements always remain – enhancing stability and minimizing manual errors.

The new Reset All function restores all color measurements to their original state prior to any edits or deletions, offering a reliable fallback for quality control.

Improved Visualization
A new ColorPicker lets users define highlight colors for deviations. The default warning color has been changed from green to red for clearer interpretation.
High-DPI measurement preview patches now scale with screen resolution, improving clarity and usability on modern displays.

Related Enhancements – Valuable Mentions

Flexible SwatchBook Imports & Merging
Import colors from any supported format and merge them into existing SwatchBooks without overwriting. Conflicting names are automatically resolved with generic naming.

Advanced CxF Import Options
Gain full control when importing color data via CxF: select specific measurements or let the system intelligently average multiple readings. This ensures consistent, high-quality digital references from printed samples – ideal for establishing your company’s spectral ColorBook standard as SwatchBook.

Streamlined Spot Color Replacement
Similar to PDF and EPS, PSD and TIFF files now display actual custom channel names. A new Assign Colors button reads predefined Photoshop tags and applies them automatically, while Remove All resets assignments with one click.

Precision Tools for Color Perfectionists

Ergosoft’s advanced color management toolset just got smarter. These updates empower color professionals with greater control, deeper insights, and enhanced accuracy – perfect for those who demand nothing less than perfection.

ICC Profile Generation with ColorGPS:
Custom ICC Profile Iteration Parameters
Gain full control over ICC profile generation with adjustable
  1. Profile grid precision
  2. Convergence thresholds
  3. Iteration limits
  4. Step sizes
Achieve up to 20% lower ΔE compared to default profiles for ultra-precise color matching

Color Management System: Precision ICC Grid Control
Achieve razor-sharp color accuracy with adjustable ICC grid precision – choose from 33, 55, or 77 grid points to fine-tune CMS calculations
This enhancement improves color transformation accuracy by up to 0.7 ΔE, delivering superior results for image color conversion and spot color replacements.

Gray Axis Inspector: Visualize Neutral Tone Composition
The new Gray Axis Inspector tool provides clear insight into how CMYK channels are used along the neutral gray axis, based on selected ICC profiles and rendering intents. It visualizes GCR (Gray Component Replacement) curves, helping users understand and optimize gray balance and color composition in print workflows.

ColorGPS Profile Editor: Nonlinear Luminance Scaling
Enhance shadow detail and reduce metamerism with the new NonLinear Scaling option for colorimetric rendering intents. By stretching the L-axis selectively in dark tones, this feature preserves visual detail, maintains smooth primary curves, and reduces metamerism while ensuring color accuracy.

Use the Gray Axis Inspector to define an optimal luminance starting point for shadow tones. From there, NonLinear Scaling intelligently stretches the L-axis toward black (L=0), preserving shadow detail while maintaining color stability and accuracy.
